White Lake Fish Barrier 2010

The White Lake Fish Barrier was installed in 2010 using funds from the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Funds. White Lake is a headwaters lake to Edgewater Bay of Fountain Lake. Like other installed electric fish barriers in the District, White Lake Fish Barrier will keep rough fish from entering headwater lakes to spawn.

Rough fish, such as common carp, will uproot bottom sediment which allows phosphorus back into the water chain and provides nutrients for algae to grow. White Creek Fish Barrier can be seen on the West side of Highway 13 where the outlet from White flows into Edgewater Bay.
