Mud Lake Electric Fish Barrier 2008
An electric fish barrier was construction at the outlet of Mud Lake to prevent rough fish from traveling from Fountain Lake to Mud and Pickerel Lake for spawning and reproduction. Rough fish, especially carp, contribute to the poor water quality in Pickerel Lake and downstream lakes. This project was funded by the local option sales tax and a grant received from the Pheasants Forever Lower Minnesota Valley Wetland Conservation Initiative which was funded though the North American Wetland Conservation Act grant program.
