Curly-Leaf Pondweed Treatment

NOTICE PROPERTY OWNERS

The Shell Rock River Watershed District has contracted with SOLitude Lake Management to treat approximately  28 acres within 150 feet of the shoreline areas in Fountain Lake during the month of May (appx. May 5-23, 2026 for the invasive aquatic weed, curly-leaf pondweed. An approved liquid aquatic herbicide will be applied to the permitted shoreline areas from a specialized boat.  Landowners on the lake may request that control not occur along their property by contacting the Shell Rock River Watershed District at 507-377-5785. 

UPDATE: SOLitude Lake Management will be applying an aquatic herbicide in Fountain Lake - East Bay and West Bay - to suppress aquatic invasive weeds.  Please stay out of the water for 24 hours.

May 5-23, 2025) for the invasive aquatic weed, curly-leaf pondweed. An approved liquid aquatic herbicide will be applied to the permitted shoreline areas from a specialized boat.  Landowners on the lake may request that control not occur along their property by contacting the Shell Rock River Watershed District at 507-377-5785.
