Fountain Lake In-Lake Habitat

The Shell Rock River Watershed District partnered with the City of Albert Lea and contracted with J.F. Brennan Company and Shoreline Landscaping & Construction to install habitat features in Fountain Lake. These features, including rock reefs, boulder clusters, and toe wood streambank stabilization, complement the recently dredged Main Bay. The project's goals include improving fisheries habitat by providing shelter, food sources, spawning grounds, and forage locations while enhancing biodiversity. Funding for this project was provided by the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council.
