Panicum Prairie Enhancement
Using Moist-Soil Management strategies, including pumps and reverse flow culverts, the 180-acres wetland complex near the state line border has the potential to retain 570-acre feet of water per year. These strategies will restore the native wetland by retaining water in the spring and fall, benefit the volume of water in the County Ditch System, and provide valuable food and cover for wetland wildlife species. Funding for this project was made possible by the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council.
