Wedge Creek Reach 1 Vegetative Restoration

Located on the east side of Highway 13 and west of Fountain Lake, the Wedge Creek Restoration included the removal of invasive plant species such as reed canary grass and buckthorn.  The reed canary grass was sprayed, burned, and seeded with a native plant mix.  The buckthorn was intensively grazed by goats to reduce abundance and allow sunlight to penetrate the ground for cool season grasses to grow.  Funding was made possible by the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council.
