Fountain Lake Fish Barrier 2010

In 2009, the SRRWD was awarded grant funding from the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council to install a mechanical fish barrier on Fountain Lake’s outlet. Unlike many District barriers, this is a physical barrier and not electrical. The barrier consists of metal bars spaced approximately 4 inches apart. The barrier is placed to prevent large fish from passing in low flow conditions, and in high flow conditions little fish would not have the strength to pass.
